Our editorial position on the autism community

We have a dedicated, growing body of work for the autism and neurodivergent community: 5 sensory-friendly games, 6 in-depth articles, the Autism Resources hub, and the Mindfulness & SEL Pack PDF.

We follow these principles:

• Identity-first language (“autistic person”) by default, acknowledging preference varies.
• No puzzle-piece symbol. Our name is about puzzle books. The autism community largely rejects the symbol; we listened.
• No ABA endorsement. We don’t recommend compliance-based therapies.
• Stimming is regulation, not behavior to extinguish.
• Sensory comfort defaults. Every interactive ships with sound off, motion respects prefers-reduced-motion, high-contrast toggle, larger-text toggle.

Why we make what we make

Most “free puzzle / kid / education” sites are overrun with login walls, ads, dark patterns aimed at kids, and “premium” upsells. We thought there should be a simpler version: actually-free tools, designed thoughtfully, that respect the people using them.

Books pay for the lights. The free tools are built because we want them to exist.
