Word Guess
Guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries. Daily puzzle + practice mode.
How to play Word Guess of the Day
Guess the hidden five-letter word in six tries. After each guess, the letters change colour: green means the letter is in the word and in the right spot, yellow means it is in the word but in a different spot, and grey means it is not in the word at all. There is one daily word for everyone, plus unlimited practice rounds, and the game tracks your streak, games played, and win percentage.
How it works
- Type any five-letter word and press Enter.
- Read the colours: green = right letter, right spot; yellow = right letter, wrong spot; grey = not in the word.
- Use those clues to make your next guess. You have six tries.
- Solve it to keep your streak going, then Share Result. Want more? Press Practice Round.
A strategy for solving in four guesses or fewer
- Open with common letters. Starting words full of E, A, R, T, O, and S reveal the most information.
- Don’t reuse grey letters. Every guess should test new letters until you have found three or four of the five.
- Move your yellows. A yellow letter is in the word but not where you put it — try it in a different position next time.
- Remember double letters. Words like “LEVEL” or “SPOON” are common traps; consider them when the clues stall.
